Matsumoku 1982-84 (approx)


There are at least three versions of the Concord II—all were made by Matsumoku.


Body and headstock style are similar to the Paduak.
Script logo on headstock, headstock colour matches body colour.
Serial number stamped on the neck plate.

  • available in Blue, Red and Black gloss finishes

  • available in Sunny Blue, Off White or Apple Red, all with a white scratchplate which does not match the body contours

As shown in the 1983 catalogue. Differences from version 1:

  • Smaller headstock, Rounder body (Now similar to the Thunder series)
  • 3 Super I pickups
  • bone nut
  • black models had a Rosewood fingerboard
  • W ‘Bird’ logo on the headstock, headstock has a natural finish
  • available in Black (with black scratchplate), Off White and Apple Red (Both with a white scratchplate)

The pictured guitar was bought brand new from a guitar shop in Crystal Palace, UK and has been owned by the same person from new. When these photos were taken, it was all stock. Since then there has been some pickup changes.
